Roma Set to Reward Pellegrini with New Contract After Fresh Talks

Lorenzo Pellegrini is edging closer to signing a new contract with Roma, with only the final approval from the Friedkin ownership reportedly standing in the way of an agreement.

The Roma captain is currently recovering from the injury he suffered at the end of last season and remained in Rome instead of joining the squad’s training camp in Wales. He is continuing his rehabilitation with a personal trainer and is said to be nearing full fitness.

According to Il Messaggero, Roma initially offered Pellegrini a one-year extension until 2027. However, the midfielder preferred a longer commitment, aiming for a three-year deal.

Negotiations have since progressed, and both sides are now reportedly close to agreeing on a two-year extension with an option for a third season. The proposed contract would see Pellegrini earn around €2.5 million per year, with the Italian international accepting a significant salary reduction to remain with the Giallorossi.

An official announcement is expected once the Friedkin Group gives the final green light.
