Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club is expecting movement in the transfer market over the coming weeks as the Gunners continue to work on strengthening their squad before the summer window closes.
The Premier League champions have added Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis this summer, while Piero Hincapie’s loan move has also been made permanent. However, Arsenal are believed to be far from finished in the market.
Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior Linked
Bruno Guimaraes remains one of Arsenal’s reported targets, with speculation suggesting the Brazilian midfielder could be the subject of a medical soon. However, reports indicate Newcastle United have not yet held direct talks with Arsenal, and the 28-year-old is expected to join his teammates for pre-season training.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also monitoring Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, who is currently in contract discussions with the Spanish giants.
Norgaard Set for Everton Exit
Speaking after Arsenal’s 4-1 pre-season victory over Girona. Arteta said: “Well, we are really active, trying to improve and evolve the team. That’s clear. We expect to have movements in the next few weeks, obviously, because we want to get better like anybody else.
And you can just see it. The transfer market and our opponents, what we are doing, we won’t sit still. “And we are very ambitious in what we want to do.”
At the same time, Christian Norgaard appears close to leaving the Emirates after just one season, with the midfielder reportedly set to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed £7 million move to Everton.
