Bayern Munich have provided a reassuring update on Jamal Musiala after the midfielder suffered a worrying collapse during Saturday’s friendly against RB Leipzig.
The incident occurred in the 83rd minute of the Telekom Cup clash, with Musiala going down without any apparent contact. Players from both teams immediately called for medical assistance as an emergency doctor rushed onto the pitch, leaving the stadium in silence.
After receiving treatment, Musiala was able to leave the field, although the 23-year-old appeared dizzy and dazed. Bayern eventually won the match 3-1 as both teams continued their preparations for the 2026-27 season.
Speaking to Bild after the game, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl offered a positive update, saying: “He is fine, and that is the most important thing.”
According to Sport 1, Musiala experienced dizziness and circulatory problems believed to have been caused by the intense heat, with temperatures reaching around 33°C in Munich. Initial examinations by Bayern’s medical team reportedly showed no worrying signs.
Musiala is now expected to rest for the next two days. Bayern will continue monitoring his condition before determining when he can safely return to training.
The club’s immediate priority will be ensuring Musiala makes a full recovery before he resumes preparations for the new season.
