Ajax are interested in Sergio Arribas, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that the Dutch club are monitoring the Almeria midfielder. Ajax coach Míchel is a big admirer of the 24-year-old’s attacking qualities.
Arribas is coming off a sensational 2025/26 season with UD Almería, finishing as the top scorer in Spain’s second tier despite playing in midfield. He made 42 appearances in LaLiga 2, scoring 25 goals and providing 7 assists.
Arribas Wants to Leave Almeria
Almería missed out on promotion to LaLiga after suffering a late play-off defeat to Málaga. Following the disappointment, Arribas reportedly wants to leave the club this summer.
The former Real Madrid academy player remains under contract with Almería until mid-2029. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at €20 million.
Ajax Face Competition
Ajax are not the only club interested in Sergio Arribas. Benfica and Real Betis have also been linked with the midfielder, although both clubs reportedly consider Almería’s €20 million valuation too high.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reports that many LaLiga clubs are interested in signing Arribas on loan for the 2026/27 season.
With 25 goals and 7 assists last season, Arribas has become one of the most sought-after attacking midfielders outside Spain’s top flight. Ajax will now have to decide whether to meet Almería’s valuation or explore a different deal for the talented midfielder.
