Ajax have completed the signing of Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare from Wolves on a season-long loan, with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
The 25-year-old joined Wolves from Genk last year but struggled to secure a regular starting role during a disappointing campaign that ended with the club’s relegation to the Championship. He made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals, including three in the Premier League.
Before moving to England, Arokodare enjoyed an outstanding spell in Belgium, finishing as the 2024/25 Belgian Pro League’s top scorer.
The striker will now aim to rediscover his best form with Ajax, who finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season and are closing in on a place in the UEFA Conference League play-off after taking a commanding 4-1 first-leg lead over Vojvodina. Ajax also hold the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
