Barcelona have confirmed an agreement to extend Hamza Abdelkarim’s contract until 2030 following the Egyptian striker’s impressive start at the club.
Abdelkarim initially joined Barcelona on loan during the January transfer window before the move was made permanent in June on a three-year deal. His rapid progress has now convinced the club to improve his terms and secure his long-term future.
Barcelona have also reportedly increased the youngster’s release clause from €15 million to €150 million, underlining how highly the club rate his potential.
Pre-Season Form Earns Abdelkarim Improved Deal
Barcelona had already been considering a new deal after Abdelkarim impressed during pre-season. The striker finished the club’s preparations as their top scorer, finding the net four times in five matches.
Those performances strengthened his position within the squad and encouraged Barcelona to act quickly. Abdelkarim has also tasted first-team football this season, coming on as a substitute against Rayo, and will be hoping to earn further opportunities as the campaign continues.
